Love Is… was (is) the name of a comic strip created by New Zealand cartoonist Kim Casali in the early 1970s. One of her most famous drawings was “Love Is…being able to say you are sorry”. The beginning of the strip coincided with the film Love Story, with its signature line “Love means never having to say you’re sorry.”
Quite a challenge then for a simple woodworker to make a wishing bench for a soon-to-be-married couple. A labor of love.
The wood is Virginia Tulip Tree, if such a thing exists in English. Aka Yellow Poplar.
