Long long ago, we had to take down a few accacia trees that were planted too close to our house. I still miss their fragrance in spring. At least, I did some credit to them by turning this bowl, 8 inches wide. And I learned how incredibly hard accacia wood can be. In addition very fragile, but I was determined to get it my way, even after the bowl shattered to pieces while turning the inside. The cracks in the bowl now represent my turning scars.

I sanded the bowl up to a 800 grain, after a first base of shellac, and finished the bowl with Shellawax. A very basic form, but I like it, even with its shortcomings. It reminds me of myself…
